Our TopCar office at the airport of Fuerteventura is located in the arrivals hall. Fuerteventura airport is located five kilometers from the capital of the island, Puerto del Rosario, and within its municipal boundaries. The access to the airport is done through the FV-1.
Fuerteventura is the flattest and largest of the Canary Islands and the second biggest after Tenerife, with 1658 km² and 98 km. from north to south. Full of vast plains, its landscape is characterized by rocky and almost desert-like spaces. The island enjoys a perfect weather with an average temperatures between 17 º in January and 25 º in August, making it an ideal destination for your vacation.
Fuerteventura is divided into six municipalities: Antigua, Betancuria, La Oliva, Pájara, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje. The islet of Lobos, of only 5 km², is part of La Oliva municipality. While driving around the island, you can admire the beautiful and unique natural areas of the Parque Natural de las Dunas de Corralejo or the Isla de Lobos, with its stunning and evocative golden beaches of clear turquoise water; the Motaña de Tindaya, one of the most characteristic points of the island, also known as the "Holy Mountain", where important aboriginal were discovered; El Cotillo, famous for its nautical atmosphere and its impressive Torre del Toston, from the XVIII century; or Las Salinas, an incomparable example of folk wisdom, were seasalt is produced from the tides.
However, what makes Fuerteventura incomparable are its over 50 km. of stuning golden sand beaches and the transparency and depth of its sea. Jandia is full of practically undisturbed beaches, that invites you to discover its hidden treasures, while enjoying the sand and sun. The best beaches of the island can be found between Costa Calma and Morro Jable, although it is worth exploring the beautiful coves away from the tourist zone. Here you also can experience other activities like golf courses, visiting the zoo or a water park or the practice of surf, windsurf or kitesurf.
