Where to visit in Tenerife

 

The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has a wide variety of things to do and see whether travelling solo, with a partner, with family, or with friends.

A must-do is to visit Teide National Park which features the highest peak in all of Spain, standing at 3, 715 metres above sea level. There are several routes you can take to climb Teide from all corners of Tenerife. You can be in the national park in less than 90 minutes no matter your starting location on the island. We recommend renting a car that you’ll be comfortable driving as all routes to Teide feature curved roads that wind through the glorious scenery.

If you’re staying in the north of Tenerife you can’t miss the towns of Garachico and La Orotava, or the opportunity to take a stroll through their beautiful historic centres. If you’re more of a hiker, the ‘green lung’ of the island at Anaga Rural Park offers you numerous routes through unique laurel forests. The view points along the way offer unforgettable, spectacular glimpses of the coastline from up high.

Tenerife has volcanic beaches of both black and golden sand. If you’re staying in the south, you’ll be able to enjoy the golden beaches of Bahía del Duque in Playa de las Américas and Las Vistas in Los Cristianos, amongst others. The north is brimming with black-sand beaches such as Playa Jardín in Puerto de la Cruz and Playa del Socorro in Los Realejos, both sites where you can see some of the most incredible sunsets the Canary Islands have to offer.
