TopCar Rates

Internet rates are subject to change without notice. Reservations booked through include special rates and conditions, not applicable for those made by phone or at the counter.

The rates offered through include:

●       Taxes (IGIC)

●       Unlimited mileage

●       Second driver

●       Child boosters and baby seats


Age restrictions

Driving Licences must be valid in Spain. The minimum hiring age  is 23 years old (having held a driving licence for at least 3 years).


Protection Conditions

The insurances included in the rates are: compulsory Third-Party Liability, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), which implies a comprehensive insurance with excess, that partially covers collision damages, Theft Protection (TP) and Personal Accident Injuries (PAI).

The excess may vary between 500€ and 800€, depending on the category hired. The basic insurance can be enhanced by choosing our SCDW Insurance which will cover the excess amount, including damages to the bodywork; rims and tyres (including flat tyres); broken glass and rear mirrors; front & back lamps and indicators; as well as covering for any roadside assistance, towing service and replacement car.

Damages caused by negligence of the authorised driver or breach of the conditions of contract are not covered (key loss, underbody damages, damages resulting from driving on unpaved roads or misfuelling, for example). If the Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) is contracted, the excess will be cancelled.

Drivers are responsible for any legal infringements committed during the duration of the rental agreement (fines, parking tickets, etc.) according to the Highway Laws and other applicable legislation.

TopCar cannot be held responsible for any object left inside the car.


Booking confirmation and payment

Once the reservation has been completed through our website, the customer will receive two e-mails to the given address:

●       First e-mail: booking request, to confirm the correct personal details have been received. This e-mail does not confirm the reservation.

●       Second e-mail: confirmation or rejection of the reservation.

No payment will be made through Bookings will be paid upon collection of the vehicle at the pick-up office of your choice.

Vehicles can be collected from any of our current airport offices (Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife South), as well as at other pick-up points in Tenerife North, La Palma and Gran Canaria South.

It is mandatory to present a valid credit card in the name of one of the drivers to process the payment and to rent the vehicle. Any other method of payment should be consulted beforehand.

Depending on the type of car rented, the insurance contracted and the payment method, a deposit may be required.

The reservation number received via email must be provided in order to pick up the car.

Reservations made through, include free child safety seats, which comply with ECE R 44/04 safety measures.

Roof racks are not included in the price. The roof racks are available in Gran Canaria (See fleet) for groups B, R, G and Y; in Fuerteventura (See fleet) for groups B, G and Y; in Lanzarote (See fleet) for groups B and G; and Tenerife (See fleet) for groups B, R and Y. Roof racks have a cost of 2€ per day. It is only permitted to transport one surfboard per vehicle, which must be placed on the roof rack. It is forbidden to place the surfboard directly on the roof or inside the vehicle. It is not allowed to transport any other object on the roof rack. TopCar S.L. cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by the surfboard transported on the roof rack to the same vehicle or to a third-party. These damages will be the driver’s responsibility.


Offices opening hours:

Gran Canaria Airport, Tenerife South Airport, and Lanzarote Airport: From 7:00h. to 23:00h., every day.

Fuerteventura Airport: From 7:00h. to 22:30h., every day.

Tenerife North Airport: From 7:30h. to 22:30h., every day.

La Palma Airport: From 8:00h. to 22:30h., every day.

La Palma Port and Fuerteventura Port (Puerto del Rosario): From 8:00h. to 20:00h.

Gran Canaria, Playa del Inglés: From 19:00h., every day.


Out-of-Hours Service

All rentals beginning after the normal office hours will be charged with an additional out-of-hour fee of 20€, payable upon collection of the vehicle.

If the car is returned before the end of the rental period, TopCar will not refund any amount for the unused days, nor the costs of the purchased extras during those unused days.

Cars must be returned with the same amount of fuel as there was at pick-up. It is forbidden to travel with TopCar vehicles outside the island where it was originally rented.


Data Protection

Personal data (Legal Notice) provided by users through will be treated with the highest of confidentiality and will not be disclosed to third parties.
