Car charging instructions
- Preparation for charging.
- Park the vehicle correctly, close to the charging station.
- Take the charging kit from the vehicle’s boot.
- Connecting the charging cable.
- Unroll the cable properly, avoiding knots and bends.
- Locate and open the vehicle's charging port cover, which may be on the front or side of the vehicle.
- Connect the cable to the charging port: First, connect the cable to the charging station/socket. After that, connect the other end to the vehicle's charging port.
- Charging process.
- Verify connection status: Once the cable is connected, the green LEDs on the vehicle's charging port will light up and you will hear a click confirming that the cable is locked.
- Charging indicators: The green LEDs will flash during the charging process. Once they stop flashing and remain as a permanent green light, it means the battery is fully charged.
- Disconnecting the cable.
- Unlock the vehicle: before removing the cable, unlock the car doors. This deactivates the cable lock to prevent theft.
- If you used an app or charging card: Use the charging terminal to indicate that you wish to end the charging session before unplugging the cable.
- Manually pausing the charging: if you wish to pause the charging before it is complete, press the circular button located below the LEDs.
- Remove the cable correctly: hold the cable by the handle to disconnect it, do not pull directly on the cable itself.
- Collecting and storing the cable.
- Once disconnected, place the safety covers on both ends of the charging cable.
- Carefully roll the cable, avoiding knots or bends that could damage it.
- Store the cable and kit in the vehicle's boot.
Additional tips for efficient use:
- Plan your charges, and if possible, charge the vehicle during off-peak hours to save money.
- Avoid full charges. Try to keep the battery level between 20% and 80% to maximise its lifespan.
- Check the equipment regularly, ensuring that both the cable and connector are in good condition.
- Familiarise yourself with the different charging points available in your area or those found on different routes.
